Pakistan Picking the Right Bowlers after Tri Series and Emerging Asia Cup 2025

Stats Paint Pictures - Especially for Pakistan Cricket
With the 2 tournaments ending, who do you think will we end up seeing in the T20 WC next year?
I collected some stats of our Emerging squad's bowlers and the picture shows their ranking based on 3 metrics. Wickets, Strike Rate and Economy. You can check the scatter plots I made on Slides #2 and #3.

Wickets vs Economy
I first compared Wickets and Economy. Sufyan Muqeem was the clear winner since he is in the top left. (10 wickets and 4.2 economy). Maaz Sadaqat comes second with brilliant figures as well (7 wickets and 4.33 economy). Arafat Minhas is very low in this chart because he bowled only twice in the tournament. This chart also echoes what happened with Ubaid Shah and Shahid Aziz in the Semi Final and Final. They were the least efficient.

Strike Rate vs Economy
Next I compared Strike Rate and Economy. Over here, players on the bottom left were the best out of the lot, as they were affordable and took wickets frequently. Arafat Minhas wins over here, with Sufyan Muqeem at number 2. Maaz Sadaqat comes number 3. Important thing to notice is that Ahmed Daniyal had the worse Strike rate in team. You can see him at the top. Shahid Aziz and Ubaid Shah were once again in the 'Least Efficient' corner.

How Experience is Related
But the most important thing I want to highlight is related to the first image. Their age, and consequently their experience. Sufyan Muqeem proved to be the best player. And that experience came with age. Ahmed Daniyal proved to be the most CLUTCH player, and that has come with his years of experience starting with LQ's PDP program. These 2 players should be rushed back to the starting 11. In India next year, I will take them over Naseem and Haris Rauf no questions asked.

More Takeaways
There are 2 more takeaways.
Maaz Sadaqat and Arafat Minhas are our gems. After the World Cup ends, I would like to see them in the team as well. Maybe for 2027 or 2028 WC, but these 2 cannot be ignored at all. I hope PCB gives them justive for the talent they have. I won't trust them though...
Ubaid Shah and Shahid Aziz are still very very young. Only 20 and 23. I won't deny that I didn't laugh at the memes after the final, but they don't deserve the hate they got. They've got a long time ahead, so I'm sure they'll improve.
Sorry for the long read. Will be nice to hear your thoughts on who should come in for whom. (If anyone says Shadab, I will ask the mod to kick you out lol)
